IRISH motorists are choosing low prices over quality of cover when buying car insurance, a survey has claimed.

A study of 747 drivers by Chubb Insurance in Ireland found 76 per cent do not read their policy in full before deciding to buy. A total of 11 per cent don't look at all.

Personal insurance manager Barry O'Dwyer of Chubb Insurance said: "As so many motorists claim to be price sensitive, it is not surprising to see how few actually check out what they are buying."
